Kodai Senga Returns to Mound in Emergency Start

Kodai Senga returned to the rotation on short notice for Friday's 5-2 loss to the Marlins, filling in for the scratched Freddy Peralta. Senga showed flashes of brilliance after a two-week absence, though he hit a wall in the fifth inning. While the Mets' offense remained stymied, the outing provided Senga a chance to find his rhythm as the team navigates the final stretch before the trade deadline. His performance served as a reminder of his ability, creating new questions for the Mets.
