Wembanyama Named NBA 2K27 Cover Athlete and Explains Extension Discount

Victor Wembanyama has been named a historic cover athlete for NBA 2K27, the first in Spurs history. Beyond his gaming milestone, Wembanyama addressed his $252 million extension, revealing he accepted a discount that saves the Spurs roughly $50 million. He stated that he does not want financial constraints to hold the team back, noting that the potential of many NBA rosters is often unfulfilled due to salary cap limitations.
