Sandy Alcantara Fades Late in Loss Amid Trade Speculation

Sandy Alcantara (10-6) took the loss Wednesday against the Astros, allowing five runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out three over seven-plus innings. With the trade deadline approaching, the veteran right-hander is viewed as a prime target, and his performance is under heavy scrutiny by interested clubs. The Marlins are currently evaluating their options, and this outing may have served as an audition or his final appearance for the organization.
