Gerrit Cole Takes Loss Despite Strong Effort Against Rays

Gerrit Cole pitched into the seventh inning on Wednesday night but received no run support in a 3-0 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays. Cole was originally scheduled for the start as the Yankees looked to bounce back from a previous loss at Tropicana Field. Despite his solid outing, the team's inability to generate offense resulted in a frustrating defeat.
