Vitek Vanecek Signs One-Year, $1 Million Deal with Islanders

The New York Islanders have signed veteran goaltender Vitek Vanecek to a one-year, $1 million contract. The move is part of the Islanders' strategy to secure goaltending depth, providing insurance in case Semyon Varlamov is not ready for the start of the season. Vanecek joins the organization as part of the league-wide personnel activity during the opening of free agency.
