Panthers Acquire Goaltender Akira Schmid from Vegas

The Florida Panthers have acquired 26-year-old restricted free agent goaltender Akira Schmid from the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for a 2028 third-round draft pick. The trade, finalized on Monday, bolsters the Panthers' depth in the crease. Schmid departs the Vegas organization following his tenure there, providing Florida with a new option in net. The move is part of a strategic roster adjustment for the Panthers as they look to strengthen their goaltending pipeline.
