William Eklund Traded to Ottawa Senators in Draft Pick Swap

William Eklund has been traded to the Ottawa Senators by the San Jose Sharks. The deal, finalized on Tuesday, includes Eklund, Kasper Halttunen, and the rights to Brandon Svoboda heading to Ottawa in exchange for the No. 9 overall pick in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft. The Sharks' decision to move Eklund for a top-10 selection signals a strategic shift in their rebuild, while the Senators bolster their roster with the young left winger and additional prospect depth.
