Leads Rays to Series Victory Over Washington

Nick Martinez earned the start for the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday, helping the team secure a 4-3 win and their first series victory in several weeks. Martinez provided solid pitching and defense, keeping the Washington Nationals' offense in check long enough for the Rays to pull ahead. While analysts noted he may not maintain a Cy Young caliber pace over a full season, his performance was exactly what Tampa Bay needed to clinch the series against the Nationals in a tight contest.
