Placed on 15-Day Injured List With Ankle Impingement
The Texas Rangers placed right-hander Jack Leiter on the 15-day injured list on Sunday due to a right ankle posterior impingement. Leiter has reportedly been battling the injury for much of the season, and the move allows him to focus on a full recovery. In a corresponding roster move, the Rangers recalled pitcher Corniell to fill the vacancy. Leiter will be eligible to return to the active roster once he completes his rehabilitation process and the mandatory 15-day period concludes.
