Phillies Option Andrew Painter to Triple-A Lehigh Valley

The Philadelphia Phillies have optioned right-handed pitcher Andrew Painter to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The move, finalized on Wednesday, follows a recent stretch of difficult outings for the young pitcher, including a struggle against the Miami Marlins. The organization determined that a return to the minor leagues is necessary for his continued development as he works through his current challenges.
