Pirates Eyeing Elite Pitching Prospect to Pair with Paul Skenes

The Pittsburgh Pirates are currently positioned to select a top-tier college pitching prospect with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft. The organization aims to pair this new talent with current ace Paul Skenes, creating a formidable duo at the top of the rotation. While the draft board remains fluid with several high-profile shortstops expected to go early, the Pirates are prioritizing the addition of an elite arm to complement Skenes' presence.
