Connor McDavid Finishes Second in Tight 2026 Hart Trophy Race

Connor McDavid placed second in the 2026 Hart Trophy voting, finishing just 10 points behind winner Nikita Kucherov. The voting margin represents the closest race for the league's MVP award since the 2001-02 season. Despite a stellar campaign for the Oilers' star center, he was edged out in a highly competitive field that also included Nathan MacKinnon, marking a significant milestone in an exceptionally tight year for individual NHL honors.
