Penguins Shift Focus to Egor Chinakhov Extension Following Malkin Deal

Following the successful re-signing of veteran Evgeni Malkin on Tuesday, the Pittsburgh Penguins have shifted their primary focus to securing a new contract for Egor Chinakhov. The young Russian winger is currently a pending restricted free agent (RFA). While the team has finalized Malkin's one-year extension, management still has work to do to ensure Chinakhov remains in the fold as they continue to address their roster needs for the 2026-27 season.
