Mikko Rantanen Played Through Torn MCL Sustained During Olympics
Dallas Stars forward Mikko Rantanen finished the season playing through a torn MCL sustained while representing Finland at the Olympics in February. General manager Jim Nill noted the injury prevented the standout forward from being himself for the remainder of the year. Rantanen missed 15 games following the injury but had previously recorded 21 goals and 51 assists in 54 games prior to the Olympic break. The injury was a significant factor in his performance during the latter half of the season.
