Devils Opt for Topias Vilén Over Ethan Edwards for NHL Call-Up

The New Jersey Devils recently made a personnel decision regarding their defensive depth, opting to promote Topias Vilén to the NHL roster on April 10, 2026, rather than Ethan Edwards. Vilén earned the call-up following three seasons of development with the Utica Comets in the American Hockey League. While Vilén moves up to the big club, Edwards remains in the organization's developmental pipeline as the team evaluates its options for the defensive corps.
