Erik Karlsson Among Ten Skaters Ejected in Playoff Melee

Erik Karlsson was one of five Pittsburgh Penguins players sent to the penalty box following a massive on-ice altercation during their first-round playoff matchup against Philadelphia. Officials took the rare step of penalizing all ten skaters on the ice during the melee. Karlsson, reflecting on the officiating decision, noted that in his 17-year career, he had never witnessed a situation where officials decided to remove every player on the ice simultaneously.
