Records 22-Save Shutout in Game 1 Victory Over Senators

Frederik Andersen anchored the Carolina Hurricanes to a 2-0 Game 1 victory over the Ottawa Senators, earning his sixth career playoff shutout. Chosen for his veteran experience over Brandon Bussi, the 36-year-old Dane stopped 22 shots, including crucial third-period saves on Drake Batherson and Brady Tkachuk during an Ottawa power play. This performance marks his third shutout in the past two postseasons, justifying coach Rod Brind’Amour’s decision to start him in the series opener.
