Trae Young Ruled Out for Remainder of 2026 Season

Wizards coach Brian Keefe confirmed that Trae Young will not return this season. Acquired from the Atlanta Hawks on Feb. 5, Young played only five games for Washington before being sidelined by a quad contusion and an MCL sprain. He will focus on his recovery during the offseason. His departure from the Hawks was part of a larger roster overhaul that has seen Atlanta trade nine players since July, resulting in a more fluid and cohesive team dynamic.
