Recalled From AHL Ahead of Matchup With Senators

Joona Koppanen was recalled from the minor leagues by the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday to provide forward depth. Although he was available for the game against the Ottawa Senators, Koppanen did not enter the lineup as Anthony Mantha was cleared to play. Koppanen remains a depth option for the Penguins as they deal with the fallout of Sidney Crosby's mid-game injury. His presence provides the team with flexibility should they need to make roster adjustments for their next contest.
