Igor Chernyshov Ruled Out After Early Hit Against Montreal

Igor Chernyshov's return to the San Jose lineup lasted less than 30 seconds on Saturday. The 20-year-old rookie took a hit from Montreal's Mike Matheson in the neutral zone immediately after the opening puck drop. Chernyshov struggled to stay on his skates before being helped off the ice. The Sharks confirmed he would not return to the game. This was Chernyshov's 16th NHL appearance after being recalled from the AHL, where he had been skating on the top line.
