Matvei Gridin Scores for Flames in 7-3 Loss to Capitals

Matvei Gridin found the back of the net for the Calgary Flames during their 7-3 loss to the Washington Capitals on Monday. Gridin scored in the second period, converting a backdoor feed from Olli Maatta past Capitals goaltender Logan Thompson to cut the deficit to 3-1. Despite the brief spark in the second period, the Flames were unable to overcome Washington's offense and have now lost five of their last six games. Gridin will look to contribute again against the Rangers on Tuesday.
