Reed Sheppard Shines in Starting Role During Rockets Win

Sheppard capitalized on a starting opportunity Friday, recording 17 points, six assists, three blocks, and three rebounds in 36 minutes during a 106-99 victory over Portland. The second-year guard has been on a tear, averaging 21.3 points and 5.5 assists over his last six games. Having logged 35-plus minutes in four consecutive outings, Sheppard appears to have turned a corner in his development while providing elite defensive contributions and consistent playmaking for Houston.
