Rangers Trade Brennan Othmann to Flames for Prospect Jacob Battaglia

The New York Rangers traded forward Brennan Othmann to the Calgary Flames in exchange for prospect Jacob Battaglia. Othmann, the 16th overall pick in the 2021 NHL Draft, struggled to establish a consistent role in New York, recording three points in 42 career games. The 23-year-old averaged 9:53 of ice time this season, scoring one goal in 17 appearances. Both teams cited a need for a change of scenery for their respective prospects to aid their development.
