Penguins Acquire Forward Elmer Soderblom from Red Wings

The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired 6-foot-8 forward Elmer Soderblom from the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for a 2026 third-round draft pick. Soderblom, 24, has recorded two goals and one assist in 39 games this season. Signed through the 2026-27 season with a $1.125 million cap hit, Soderblom provides Pittsburgh with size and developmental upside. The move allows Detroit to clear lineup space and secure future draft capital.
