John Carlson Traded to Ducks, Ruled Out for Friday

The Washington Capitals traded veteran defenseman John Carlson to the Anaheim Ducks for draft picks. Carlson, currently dealing with a lower-body injury, has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Canadiens. The 36-year-old, who led the Capitals with 36 assists, is expected to join his new team Saturday and claim a top-four role and power-play time. His departure marks the end of a 17-season tenure in Washington.
