Flyers Acquire David Jiricek, Assign Him to AHL

The Philadelphia Flyers acquired 22-year-old defenseman David Jiricek from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for forward Bobby Brink. A former sixth-overall pick, the 6-foot-4 blueliner has been assigned to the AHL's Lehigh Valley Phantoms to ensure Calder Cup playoff eligibility. The Flyers intend to prioritize his development and protect him from top-pairing minutes until he is fully ready for a regular NHL role.
