Red Wings Re-Acquire Veteran Forward David Perron from Senators

The Detroit Red Wings have re-acquired veteran forward David Perron from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for a conditional 2026 draft pick. Perron, 37, is currently recovering from groin surgery and is six weeks into a 5-7 week recovery timeline. The trade includes conditions: if he plays before the season ends, Detroit sends a 2026 fourth-round pick; if they reach the second round and he plays 50% of first-round games, they send a 2026 third-round pick. He recorded 25 points in 49 games.
