Wilson Involved in Fiala Injury, Deemed Unlucky Accident

Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson was involved in the play that resulted in Los Angeles Kings' Kevin Fiala sustaining a gruesome, season-ending leg injury during Switzerland's game against Canada. While Fiala was carted off the ice, multiple sources, including Czechia's Michal Kempny and the article's author, clarified that it was "an unlucky accident" and "not a dirty hit," but rather an "unfortunate freak play." Wilson also played on a line with Nick Suzuki and Brandon Hagel during Canada's 5-1 win over Switzerland.
