McCarron Fined Maximum for Slash on Capitals' van Riemsdyk
Nashville Predators forward Michael McCarron has been fined $2,343.75, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, by the NHL for slashing Washington Capitals defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk. The incident occurred in the third period of their recent game when McCarron whacked van Riemsdyk on the forearm after the play. No penalty was called on the ice during the game, but Player Safety later imposed the financial penalty.
