Artemi Panarin Traded to Kings, Signs Two-Year, $22M Extension
Artemi Panarin was traded from the New York Rangers to the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday, immediately signing a two-year, $22 million extension. Panarin, who spent nearly seven seasons with the Rangers (205 goals, 402 assists in 482 games), acknowledged the trade was possible due to team struggles. The Kings acquired him for prospect Liam Greentree (2024 NHL Draft 26th pick) and a conditional draft pick. Rangers coach Mike Sullivan wished Panarin well, noting the 'finality' allows the team to move on and replace his production by committee. Panarin sees the Olympic break as ideal for integrating with his new team.
