AJ Johnson Traded to Mavericks in Blockbuster Deal, Joins Dallas Backcourt

AJ Johnson has been traded to the Dallas Mavericks as part of the multi-player deal that sent Anthony Davis to Washington. He was packaged with Khris Middleton, Malaki Branham, Marvin Bagley, two first-round, and three second-round picks. Johnson will add depth to Dallas' backcourt, competing for minutes with Branham, Max Christie, Caleb Martin, and Klay Thompson, though his role is currently unclear. In a recent game against the New York Knicks, Johnson scored in the team's loss, playing 24 minutes with a 148 offensive rating and a -1 +/-.
