Walter Clayton Traded to Grizzlies, Centerpiece of Rebuild
Walter Clayton was acquired by the Memphis Grizzlies from the Utah Jazz on Tuesday in a multi-player trade. The Grizzlies received Clayton, Kyle Anderson, Taylor Hendricks, Georges Niang (foot), and three future first-round picks, sending Jaren Jackson, Vince Williams, John Konchar, and Jock Landale to Utah. Clayton, the No. 18 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, is considered a centerpiece of Memphis's rebuild. He averaged 6.8 points, 3.2 assists, 2.0 rebounds, and 0.5 steals in 18.0 minutes over 45 appearances with the Jazz. He is questionable to debut Wednesday against the Kings.
