Patrick Kane Becomes NHL's All-Time Highest-Scoring U.S.-Born Player

Detroit Red Wings forward Patrick Kane made history Thursday, surpassing Mike Modano to become the NHL's all-time highest-scoring U.S.-born player with his 1,375th career point (an assist on Ben Chiarot's goal) in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Capitals. He also scored his record 54th shootout goal. Kane, who recently hit 500 goals, expressed relief to achieve the milestone and was lauded by fellow American players for his iconic career.
