Nick Lardis Reassigned to AHL, Trade Deadline Could Pave NHL Return
Chicago Blackhawks prospect Nick Lardis was reassigned to the AHL's Rockford IceHogs on Monday to gain more top-line minutes, play during the Olympic break, and participate in All-Star festivities. In his 21 NHL games, Lardis recorded five goals and two assists for seven points. His initial call-up was fueled by a strong AHL performance of 26 points (13 goals, 13 assists) in 24 games. The NHL trade deadline is considered his most likely path back to the Blackhawks, as potential veteran forward trades could create roster space.
