Evgeni Malkin Thriving with Tommy Novak, Extension Talks Loom

Pittsburgh Penguins star Evgeni Malkin, who expressed a desire to play with Tommy Novak before the season, has formed a dangerous duo with him since Jan. 13, leading the Penguins to a 5-0-2 record. Malkin, who returned from a shoulder injury on Jan. 8, has 5 goals and 11 points in January, bringing his season total to 13 goals and 40 points in 36 games. His representatives are expected to discuss a contract extension during the Olympic break.
