Bills Owner Fires Coach Sean McDermott After Playoff Wall

Buffalo Bills owner Terry Pegula has fired coach Sean McDermott, citing the team hitting 'the proverbial playoff wall' after a 33-30 overtime loss to Denver in a divisional playoff. Pegula made the decision immediately after seeing the team's distress, despite McDermott's 98-50 regular-season record and seven straight double-digit-win seasons. The lack of a Super Bowl appearance, with an 8-8 playoff record and three straight losses by three points, ultimately led to the change. Pegula said Allen had no input in McDermott’s firing.
