Jets' Pionk Placed on IR, Sidelined Week-to-Week with Undisclosed Injury

Winnipeg Jets defenseman Neal Pionk has been placed on injured reserve Wednesday, retroactive to January 13, due to an undisclosed injury. Head coach Scott Arniel previously labeled Pionk as week-to-week. While he had missed a game due to a foot injury, it's unclear if this new designation is related. Pionk has been struggling offensively, enduring a 12-game goal drought since December 15th with only two assists. This significant time off could jeopardize his chances of reaching the 30-point mark for the first time since the 2018-19 season, and his return before the Olympic break in February is uncertain.
