Vanecek Gets Surprise Start vs. Avalanche Amidst Vejmelka Injury

Vitek Vanecek will make a surprise road start for the Utah Mammoth against the Avalanche on Tuesday, stepping in after Karel Vejmelka (upper body) was ruled out. Vanecek has struggled recently, holding an 0-6-1 record with a 3.43 GAA and an .855 save percentage over his last seven contests, with his last win dating back to October 26. He faces a challenging assignment against the NHL's top team.
