Canadiens Acquire Phillip Danault from Kings; Optimism for Bounce Back

The Montreal Canadiens have re-acquired center Phillip Danault from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a 2026 second-round pick. Danault, 32, struggled with the Kings this season, posting zero goals and five assists in 30 games. However, optimism surrounds his return to Montreal, where he previously recorded 194 points in 360 games. He also achieved over 40 points in each of his four prior seasons, including 8 goals and 43 points in 80 games in 2024-25, suggesting a potential rebound.
