Avalanche Recall Ilya Solovyov Amidst Defensive Roster Changes

Ilya Solovyov has been recalled by the Colorado Avalanche after a three-game conditioning assignment with the AHL's Colorado Eagles, where he recorded no points but was +1 with 4 SOG playing top-pair minutes. Claimed off waivers in October, the 6'3", 208-pound defenseman is being prepared for a larger role, potentially stepping into Samuel Girard's spot if a trade occurs. His recall ahead of Sunday's 5-1 win over the Wild signals the Avalanche's plan to utilize his physical presence, which is seen as crucial for postseason play.
