Chmelar Earns 4th-Line Role with Rangers Through Hard Work, AHL Performance

Jaroslav Chmelar, a 2021 fifth-round pick, has earned a fourth-line role with the New York Rangers through exceptional play in the AHL for the Hartford Wolf Pack. Called up in early November, he played two games, including a fight in his NHL debut, before being sent down and recently recalled. Though without points in four NHL games, the 6-foot-4 forward's physical, surprisingly quick, and impactful play, focusing on basics and forecheck, has been noticeable. He brings a positive spirit to the team.
