Ethan Bear Rehabbing Wrist Injury, Expected Back in Weeks for Islanders

New York Islanders defenseman Ethan Bear sustained a wrist injury on Sept. 26 after blocking a shot in a preseason game, forcing him to leave. Bear, who signed a one-year, two-way deal worth $775,000 on July 1, was subsequently placed on Season-Opening Injured Reserve (SOIR), which removed him from the active roster and salary cap count. He has been rehabbing in Bridgeport and is anticipated to return to action within a few weeks.
