Ty Murchison Impresses in NHL Debut, Earns Praise from Flyers Coach

Philadelphia Flyers prospect Ty Murchison made a successful NHL debut, playing 14:56 in a 4-1 win over the San Jose Sharks, including time on the penalty kill. Called up from the AHL, Murchison earned praise from coach Rick Tocchet for his skating and competitiveness, despite some expected tentativeness. He recorded one of his defense-leading three hits and is poised to continue playing for the Flyers at the NHL level, at least until Rasmus Ristolainen returns, having leapfrogged Ginning and Zamula.
