Samuel Blais Recalled by Canadiens After Strong AHL Debut

Forward Samuel Blais, recently re-claimed by the Montreal Canadiens after being waived by the Toronto Maple Leafs, has been assigned to the Laval Rocket. In his first AHL game with Laval, Blais scored two goals, including the game-tying goal, and the shootout winner in a 5-4 victory. With Montreal facing injuries to Patrik Laine, Kirby Dach, and Alex Newhook, Blais is a strong candidate for an NHL recall soon, though he is considered a 13th forward in a fully healthy lineup.
