Blue Jackets Optimistic: Werenski Eyes Wednesday Return vs. Toronto

Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Zach Werenski (upper body) is 'working through some stuff today' and is expected to skate Wednesday morning to assess his readiness. Head coach Dean Evason conveyed Tuesday that the blueliner appears to have avoided a serious injury. NHL Insider Frank Seravalli reported Tuesday that the Blue Jackets are optimistic Werenski will be good to go for Wednesday's home matchup versus Toronto, though his status depends on how he feels after the morning skate. If he misses time, Denton Mateychuk is a candidate for increased opportunities.
