Matthews Not Ruled Out for Wednesday; Status Update Expected Tuesday

Auston Matthews (lower body) has not been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube stated that he expects to know more about Matthews' availability on Tuesday, indicating that Tuesday's practice session will be critical. While not a confirmation, this is a positive sign for the star center. Upon his return, Matthews will reclaim his first-line role and spot on the No. 1 power-play unit.
