The St. Louis Blues have placed 26-year-old forward Alexandre Texier on unconditional waivers to terminate his contract. After going unclaimed and being assigned to Springfield (AHL), Texier will not report and plans to become a free agent to sign with a team of his choosing. He will forfeit the remainder of his two-year, $4.2 million contract. Texier recorded one assist in eight games with the Blues this season, following 31 games last season (6 goals, 5 assists) after being acquired from Columbus. Coach Jim Montgomery noted Texier "didn't find any kind of path this year to consistently stay in the lineup."
