Canadiens Recall Florian Xhekaj from AHL to Add Toughness

The Montreal Canadiens have recalled forward Florian Xhekaj from their AHL affiliate, the Laval Rocket, giving the 6-foot-4 prospect his first NHL roster chance. This season with Laval, Xhekaj recorded two goals, four points, and 44 penalty minutes in 16 games. Last season, he posted 24 goals, 35 points, and 175 penalty minutes in 69 games. His call-up is expected to add more bite and toughness to the Canadiens' lineup. Joshua Roy will remain with the NHL club.
