Colten Ellis to Start for Sabres Wednesday, Pushing for Increased Playing Time

Colten Ellis, the 25-year-old goaltender for the Buffalo Sabres, is confirmed to start at home against the Calgary Flames on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. This will be his third consecutive start, following two wins where he allowed five goals on 61 shots. Ellis, who was claimed off waivers by the Sabres in October 2025 after signing a two-year, two-way extension with the Blues in March 2025, has a 2025 season record of 3 wins, 1 loss, 0 shutouts, a 2.76 GAA, and a .914 SV%. He appears to be making a strong push for more playing time within the Sabres' goaltending trio, which also includes Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and Alex Lyon.
