Flames Claim Beecher; Penguins Waive Tomasino

The Calgary Flames have claimed forward Johnny Beecher off waivers from the Boston Bruins. Beecher, a 2019 first-round pick, brings size and speed to the Flames, who are last in the NHL in goals-for per game. In six games this season with the Bruins, Beecher scored one goal. Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Penguins have placed forward Philip Tomasino on waivers. Tomasino, also a 2019 first-round pick, had one assist in nine games this season and recorded 11 goals and 23 points in 50 games last season.
